Job Opening: HPLC Technician

Classification - Nonexempt Salary – DOE | Supervisor – Kentucky Production ManagerShift – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Job Description:

GenCanna currently has an open position for full-time HPLC Technician at our global headquarters.  In this role, the HPLC Technician works closely with the Kentucky Production Manager and Chief Science Office to ensure the consistency and quality of our ingredients through both in house and third-party testing.  This role is also responsible for the testing aspect of compliance with all state and federal regulations. 

HPLC Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Testing

  • Collect and process samples and complete all related reports and documentation.

  • Perform analytical testing on samples.

  • Operate laboratory equipment and instruments.

  • Calibrate, document and maintain all laboratory equipment.

  • Inspect, and sample product to ensure that all product meets HACCP guidelines.

  • Operate in compliance with all company SOPs.

  • Provide support to the Research and Development Department.

 

Administrative

  • Maintain necessary files and records related to testing and laboratory functions.

  • Provide management with reports on test results and make recommendations for improvement.

 

Other

  • Other duties as assigned and/or necessary due to the dynamic nature of the company and our industry.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely life and move boxes up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat and kneel

 

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years HPLC experience.  This includes routine maintenance, calibration, data analysis, and reporting functions.

  • Working knowledge of the Agilent 1100 HPLC system and Chemstation software.

  • Associates degree with 1-2 years experience in analytical chemistry or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with LIMS and cGMP systems a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

  • Possess a professional and reliable demeanor.

  • Possess a high degree of attention to detail.
